Paul Smith
Board Member
Paul Smith was a member of the Idaho State Historical Society Board of Trustees, serving on behalf of District 5. He has worked with ISHS since 1991 and has a life-long love of state and local history. A former chairman of the Twin Falls County Historic Preservation Commission, Mr. Smith started Preservation Twin Falls, a nonprofit dedicated to buying historic properties for Twin Falls, in 2007.
Dr. Russ Tremayne
Board Member, Historian
Russ Tremayne, professor emeritus of history at the College of Southern Idaho, has been active in historic preservation during his tenure in Twin Falls, Idaho. In 2019, he received the Esto Perpetua for his professional accomplishments, public service, volunteerism, and philanthropy in preserving the state’s heritage. Dr. Tremayne's current research includes the farm labor camp El Milagro, and he is writing a book on the cultures of southern Idaho.
Dr. Denny Matthews
Board Member, Anthropologist
Denyee Matthews is an anthropologist specializing in biological and cultural anthropology. Her research is in cultural resource management, an applied field of archaeology that documents and protects cultural heritage sites.
Justin Vipperman
Board Member, Historian
Justin Vipperman, a history faculty member at the College of Southern Idaho and a graduate student at Idaho State University, is active in community issues and historic preservation. His research includes the immigration of diverse cultures and regenerative agriculture in Idaho.
